SW US Trip with Marion C. and Sue Hope
Homeward Bound, Stops 18 and 19
June 7-8 - Days 26-27 - Home
Up on Sunday, had breakfast at the hotel, enjoyed a relaxed visit with Vern and Lisa, then took off for home. We drove to New Orleans the first day, getting in late - around 8:00 PM. We had dinner at the Acme Oyster House (home of the oyster challenge for those of you who watch Man vs Food on the Travel Channel - grin) with Dot's sister, Ruth Garrard, then went to the Garrard's home on the campus of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary for the night. Next day, we drove from New Orleans to Gainesville with a stop in Slidel to buy some local food specialties. We finally arrived in Gainesville late - around 10:30 PM. Home! Trip over. Marion and Sue left around noon the next day for South Carolins. We accomplished all of the things we set off to do, saw most of the things we went to see and had a great time . . . a great trip.
