Day 15, May 29 Worsley to The Moorings via Astley Green.

Woke up to a beautiful day and headed out to Astley Green, site of a colliery museum. After visiting the museum, we turned around (winded)and went back to The Moorings for the night.


The canal splits in Worsley and our branch takes a hard left just past our mooring.


The historic old Packet House faced us while moored in Worsley and signaled the split in the Canal.

There were a number of these wild rose shrubs on the back of the "junk" yard where the un-restored machinery and parts were stored.


After touring the colliery museum, we had lunch at the Old Boat Pub right beside the canal. We then cruised back to The Moorings and tied up alongside the pub as seen here in this Google Earth image. We went to the pub to justify using their WiFi and ended up eating dinner there as well. To bed early in preparation for cruising into downtown Manchester tomorrow morning.
